1949 Hollywood Stars vs San Diego Padres Minor League Program Gilmore Field. This is a rare find for any historian of baseball.  The Stars were one of the most famous minor league teams ever primarily due to the actual Hollywood "Stars" who came to see the games.  The last year for the Stars was 1957 as major league baseball arrived in Los Angeles with the Dodgers in 1958.  Gilmore Field was then razed and at the site CBS Television City was built which has become a famous L.A. landmark.
Program does have a stain that runs thru the middle of the pages and is noticeable on left side of front cover and right side of back cover.  A few of the pages have some frays and curls on the corners.  But considering this program is over 70 years old it's actually not in that bad of shape.  In fact if it wasn't for the stain I would have rated this good maybe even very good.  Pages have yellowed a bit with age and you have to be careful turning the pages as they are somewhat brittle but they lay flat, all intact and with no writing.
