Description
This is a 1959 Detroit Tigers Yearbook.
The 1959 Detroit Tigers included Hall-of-Famers Al Kaline and Jim Bunning along with Harvey Kuenn, Charlie Maxwell, Eddie Yost, Rocky Bridges, Frank Bolling, Gail Harris, Lou Berberet, Paul Foytack, Frank Lary, Tom Morgan and Don Mossi.
The Tigers went 76-78 in 1959, finishing 4th in the AL. Bill Norman began the year as Tiger Manager and was replaced by Jimmy Dykes after the Tigers started 2-15. Harvey Kuenn led the Tigers and the American League in Batting at .353. Kaline was second on the Tigers and the AL at .327. Charlie Maxwell led the Tigers in Home Runs (31) and RBI (95). Jim Bunning, Frank Lary and Don Mossi each had 17 Wins to lead Tiger Pitchers. Bunning led the Tigers and the AL in Strikeouts with 201. Don Mossi was the Tiger leader in ERA at 3.36.
The condition of this yearbook is G-VG, but looks much better. The main problem is that the staples are missing. So while the yearbook is complete, all the pages are loose. The front cover has nice color and gloss. The back cover is clean. There is a small piece of tape on the top, bottom and side edge of both the front and back cover, as if the yearbook was taped shut. There is a small ding/tear on the front cover, bottom edge. The insides are clean. The yearbook is complete, but the staples are missing. Please check the scans.
Don't miss this opportunity to get this vintage Tiger yearbook.
Payment
I would appreciate payment within three days of the end of the auction, but if additional time is needed, just let me know.
Shipping
Shipping and handling is .50. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. If you win multiple items, please wait for me to provide you with an updated invoice reflecting your total purchases.
Why I don't offer "free" shipping.
We all know that there is no such thing as "free" shipping. The post office charges for every item they deliver. So the only way to offer "free" shipping is to build the shipping charge into the price of the item. However, often times people purchase multiple lots. By not building in the shipping charge into the price of each item, I am able to combine shipping charges, thereby saving you money. My shipping charges are very reasonable. With my safe and secure packaging, I often charge less than I spend on postage and packaging. I sincerely believe that by offering a low shipping charge along with combined shipping for multiple lots I am able to save you money in the long-run.
About Us
I am a collector just like you. I get frustrated with over-grading and people trying to profit from excessive shipping fees. I believe I am a conservative grader. I provide high quality scans and/or photos to give you the best view possible. I will disclose any defects to the best of my ability. However, if I happen to miss something, simply return the item within 30 days for a full refund, no questions asked.
