    Description

This is for an original program from the 1969 National League Championship Series which would pit the Eastern Division Champion New York Mets against the Western Division Champion Atlanta Braves. Everyone knows the story of the 69 Miracle Mets and any type of memorabilia from the 1969 Mets is highly coveted. The playoffs were something new to baseball in 1969 and who could have guessed that the Braves would be swept by the upstart kids from Flushing in 3 games. This would be the only game played at Shea as the Mets had taken the first two from the Braves in Fulton County Stadium. As depicted on the 1970 Topps card #197 this would be the infamous “Ryan Saves the Day” game which would catapult the Mets into the World Series against the heavily favored powerhouse Baltimore Orioles. This program is clean as a whistle and someone took the time to score it perfectly. Two tiny vintage tape stains on the bottom reverse, which can vaguely be seen in the scan, is all that keeps this program from being gem mint. Extremely collectible and a must have for any Mets fan.
