Offered for auction from a recent Maine Estate sale is a grouping of 27 Military Insignias, Patches, Medals etc as presented below
26 U.S.  ARMY - MARINES - AIR FORCE - NAVY AND 1 UNITED KINGDOM METAL  “INSIGNIAS - MEDALS - PATCHES - ALL UNBOXED  as defined  below.
From research I have been able to identify the Badges, Patches, Insignias, Medals etc and have titled them as follows.
United States Armed Forces established by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953.
Currently, the National Defense Service Medal is the oldest service medal (as opposed to decorations for particular achievements such as valor or meritorious service and Good Conduct Medals) currently awarded by all branches of the United States Armed Forces. The only two older currently awarded service medals are the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, established in 1919, and the Navy Expeditionary Medal, established in 1936. The oldest currently awarded combat decoration is the Medal of Honor, which was established in 1862, and the oldest currently awarded non-combat decoration is the Army's Distinguished Service Medal, established in 1918. The Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Army Good Conduct Medals were established in 1869, 1896, 1923 and 1941 respectively. The Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal was established in 1925.
The 1939–1945 Star is a military campaign medal instituted by the United Kingdom on 8 July 1943 for award to British and Commonwealth forces for service in the Second World War. Two clasps were instituted to be worn on the medal ribbon, Battle of Britain and Bomber Command.
On 8 July 1943, the 1939–43 Star (later named the 1939–1945 Star) and the Africa Star became the first two campaign stars instituted, and by May 1945 a total of eight stars and nine clasps had been established by the United Kingdom to reward campaign service during the Second World War. One more campaign star, the Arctic Star, and one more clasp, the Bomber Command Clasp, were belatedly added on 26 February 2013, more than sixty-seven years after the end of the war.
Air Force Badge -  Space Missile Senior  Regulation size.
Air Force badge regulation mirror finish Senior Space Missile. Originally authorized in 1982 and then in 1993 renamed the Space and Missile badge. The badge is awarded to officers in the astronaut and space/missile operations career field and to enlisted personnel in the space systems career field. Individuals must have performed in a space duty position in a space unit for 12 months to receive the basic space badge.

MARINE RIFLE QUALIFICATION BADGE
Marine Corps marksmanship qualification badges are suspended beneath a bar reading the type of weapon and qualification received. The badge is also different in appearance, depending on which weapon qualification has been obtained. For a marksmanship qualification badge to be obtained, a service member must obtain a passing score and will receive a qualification level depending on the score obtained. Once a qualification has been obtained, and the marksmanship badge issued, the badge may be worn for the remainder of a military career, or until a different level of qualification (higher or lower) is achieved.

COAT OF ARMS - MASSACHUSETTS STATE MOTTO ON MEDAL
Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem is a Latin passage and the official motto of the U.S. Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The phrase is often loosely translated into English as "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty." The literal translation, however, is "she seeks with the sword a quiet peace under liberty." The "she" in question refers to the word manus from the full phrase manus haec inimica tyrannis ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem, which means "this hand, an enemy to tyrants, seeks with the sword a quiet peace under liberty."
It was written c. 1660 by English soldier-statesman Algernon Sidney, who was an opponent of Charles II and who was later executed for treason. The motto was first adopted in 1775 by the Massachusetts General Court (the official name of the state legislature) and applied to the temporary seal of Massachusetts. On December 13, 1780, the legislature approved its application to the current Great Seal of Massachusetts.

2 EMBROIDERED PATCHES - CROSSED RIFLES ARMY AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE A VANGUARD AIR FORCE SECURITY PATCH POSSIBLY?
2 ARMY CAPTAIN SHOULDER RANK INSIGNIA. The Silver medal Captain Shoulder Rank Insignias are in two sizes.  1 is 1 Inch tall and the other is ¾ of an inch tall. Both have clutchbacks present.
BRASS ROTC HAT INSIGNIA possibly WWII era.
SILVER COLORED VINTAGE BRASS WREATH FOR MILITARY OR STATE INSIGNIA.  Both pins in tack on back with clutchbacks present. These were initially utilized for Civil War Kepi’s with unit definition, however the Civil War types had a longer pin attached to bend through the cap. This is a latter issue one with shorter pins on  back for clutchbacks as noted above.  Old discoloration visible on back.
These U.S Service Medals/Badges/Insignias and 1 United Kingdom Medal are as found not cleaned.  All medals requiring clutchbacks for the pins are present as photos show.   As photos shows the Medal/Badges/Insignias  are in very to and many are in  excellent condition.   Please view pictures for condition.
