    Description

    An antique Brevet Swiss 8 Day car clock. Simple round metal frame and white clock face with gilt Arabic numerals, marked "8 Days, Swiss". Back is engraved "In Memory of Charles, Nov. 9th 1917". Measures approx. 2.75"dia. This piece is in poor antique condition, displaying much general wear. The metal body has a lot of oxidation/discoloration, the clock face has chips, damages with hairline cracks, and losses to its gilt numerals, the crystal glass cover has some light isolated surface scratches and two significant cracks with chips, and the clock hands are very delicate with losses - see pictures. However, the clock appears to be working (can hear it ticking when wound), but it is not tested. The clock back is marking inside "3, 53, Swiss, 1278167" and has some small, very fine etching which could not be made out. The inner mechanism is stamped "Brevet 33236, Swiss Made."
