CARTRIDGE SHIPPED BRAND NEW WITH TAMPER PROOF SEAL
Designed and built in the US by the only manufacturer ever authorized to make B&O replacement cartridges.
Can be used as a replacement on any B&O turntable that used an original  MMC5, 4, 3, 2 or 1. cartridge.
One of our best-selling models, the SMMC2 features an advanced stylus design ~ a low mass "Nude Contact Line Diamond" that refines high frequencies at the inner grooves better than elliptical, and mounted to a solid RUBY ROD cantilever.
Soundsmith is the ONLY B&O factory authorized manufacturer and service center for Bang and Olufsen cartridges. Our cartridges are brand new, not rebuilds, made in the US in Peekskill NY.
Soundsmith B&O cartridges are warrantied for 2 full years for any defect in manufacture.
We have been manufacturing and servicing them for nearly 20 years. Please be aware that B&O stopped manufacture of the MMC5, 4, 3, 2, and MMC1 in 1986. Original cartridges, even ones that are sold as "new" have aged at LEAST 31 years, and they DO fail with age. Please note that original cartridges are not sold with any kind of warranty, and they CAN and DO suddenly fail internally, even if they function initially.
The Upper level models we manufacture (SMMC3, 2, and 1) will compete with cartridges selling for far, far more and offer remarkable levels of
performance
