Description

This item is a Texas Instruments SR-50 "Slide Rule" calculator with accessories.  This includes the SR-50 calculator itself, the leather zippered carrying case, the original AC9130 wall charger, the original BP-1A battery pack installed in the calculator, the user's instruction booklet and the original product box and Styrofoam carrier.  The serial number is SR500673787.  The display looks great, all segments are working, very bright with no scratches or blemishes of any kind on the red lens.  All the keys work fine and feel good, both slide switches work great.  All 4 rubber feet on the back are present and in excellent condition.  The battery compartment is clean and corrosion free with terminals still having a bright chrome finish.  The battery pack has been rebuilt with 3 new Tenergy rechargeable 1000mAh Ni-Cad batteries.  After charging the calculator for 3 hours, it was run on battery power and the display set with all LED segments lit.  It was able to run this way for just over 5 hours continuously before needing a recharge.  The leather carrying case is in excellent condition, both sides, inside and out with a bright blue fur interior.  The 84 page user's instruction booklet is excellent condition with all pages present and no writing or marks anywhere. The original box is in good condition with normal surface wear and just 2 small punctures in the top, not too noticeable.  Inside is the original Styrofoam insert that holds the items.  All 12 pictures are of the actual items you will receive.  Shipping is via USPS Priority mail.
The SR-50 was introduced in January of 1974 and was produced for only 18 months before being replaced by the SR-50A.  The SR-50 had a silver bezel with several blue, black and grey function keys.  This look was abandoned with the SR-50A which had a more consistent look to other TI calculators of the time with most function keys having a brown color.  The SR-50 was TI's first calculator to have logarithms, trigonometric and hyperbolic functions and was positioned to compete with Hewlett Packard's HP-35 which it did quite well based on its sales volume.
