These are axial lead, clear VU Meter Lamps rated at 8 Volt and 100 Ma draw
They are applicable to TEAC and a very wide range of audio equipment
We have used them for years as replacements for most TEAC equipment.
Most Teac and Radio Shack VU meters used a fuse-style frosted lamp. Those lamps are no longer available.
Originally TEAC used a 50 ma lamp but later superceded that lamp to a 100 ma unit.
Thus, these are a perfect application for TEAC specifically but are also applicable to many, many different VU meters.
These lamps must be soldered into place as a replacement.
The lamps are about 4 mm (0.157") in diameter and 20 mm (0.787") in glass body length.
Each lamp has approximately 1" leads on each side
Each lamp is clear and
unfrosted
.

They are great items.
Use a heat sink when soldering.
Put a rubber band around the hand grips of a needlenose plier to keep the plier closed and attach the closed needlenose to the lead lamp side of the wire. Solder after that point.
NOTE: these
lamps are also applicable to the
Presonus
Bluetube and Bluetube V2
amplifier VU meter lamps.
Presonus puts a blue plastic covering over
the lamp so that a blue image is cast upon the VU
meters. Our bulbs are clear and do not have that blue covering. This covering can be done to our lamp as well. However, any plastic covering holds the heat in which can shorten lamp life.
